PRIZES AND GIVE-AWAYS
Cash prizes are awarded to the first three positions in each category. The 31 and over category is broken up into 31-40, 41-50, 50-60, and 61+. Prizes are also awarded based on points accumulated by swimmers competing in more than one swim in the Swim Challenge Series.
Participants must attend prize-giving to claim their prize money and medals.
WATER QUALITY
The water is clean and relatively clear, with no water-grass, algae or leeches. The water temperature is refreshing and visibility is between half a metre and three metres, depending on the day.
LAYOUT
Parking is limited and those arriving late may be in for a long walk to the start/finish point. Ablution facilities include showers. There is a steep grass slope, so take along a picnic blanket to sit on. With only a handful of thatched areas and trees for protection from the sun, it is a good idea to take an umbrella. Hot and cold food, cold drinks and sweets are on sale. There are limited braai facilities.
