The clean and clear conditions do not hinder your swim and it is easy to see the other competitors in the water. Adding to this, a relatively small field and the potential for unwanted collisions are minimised.

WATER QUALITY
Close your eyes and imagine crystal mountain streams and lush green vegetation. See a dam of sparkling clean water and you have just seen Ebenezer. Quality is a defining feature of this swim and the water is clean, clear and sweet-tasting. Even the shoreline is spotless and free from water-grass and algae.
LAYOUT
The course is in the form of a triangle with two buoys marking the turning points. They are clearly visible with distinct landmarks behind the buoys. Direction-keeping is simple. The start is in the water and the first leg is the longest. The second leg runs parallel to the edge of the dam on the opposite side of the finish venue. The final leg to the finish is the shortest. Changes in the water level can affect the course.
FACILITES
The facilities are excellent with permanent ablution facilities including toilets, showers and change rooms. A variety of hot and cold food and other refreshments are on sale. It is a good idea to arrive relatively early for the swim as parking is limited. Late arrivals are in for quite a walk. Once at the Mountain Yacht Club there is a large grassy area to sit on with numerous trees for shade.
