MTN Cyclists' Guide - 2009

We are proud to announce the first edition of the MTN Cyclists’ Guide to Road and Mountain Bike Races in. This book sets the standard in sporting guides and in time will become known as “The Cyclists’ Bible”. This is an essential guide for anyone who wants to do some riding in 2009.

Tom Cottrell lists well over 700 races in this inaugural guide. He researched all the big events – the old favourites, and they are there in detail. The guide also looks at some of the lesser-known rides that are the best kept cycling secrets. South African cycling is vibrant, well organised and in many cases, fun.

The book is conveniently divided into mountain bike and road races as well as track events. All the essential information is there, the date, time and venue. The contact details are comprehensive and are well researched. In many instances the entry rules and details are given. The course descriptions are comprehensive and a great number of races show the route profile, such essential information when planning a good race.

Tom’s editor’s notes are informative as well. Some history of the race is given, as well as time limits and how many cyclists finished the race last year. Add to that details of prizes and give-aways and course records and this publication goes a long way to filling any information gaps there may be in cycling.

The book is available at Sportsmans Warehouse and a number of popular running shops. It is also available through the normal book trade, Exclusive Books, Estoril Books and at C.N.A. Retail price is R95.00 including VAT.
